In many juridictions any doctor may legally perform cosmetic surgery even though they have no training to do so. Patients often cannot tell the difference between qualified Cosmetic Plastic Surgeons and so-called ‘Cosmetic Surgeons’ who are often family doctors without training in plastic surgery. Similarly, some clinics use foreign nurses, foreign doctors, estheticians and other unlicensed individuals to perform cosmetic injections. Even clinics that have a qualified plastic surgeon may not have been built to the safety standards of a hospital, as the surgeon may not have had the money to do. At Möcelle Edan we are committed to safety and have established our own voluntary standard for our medical staff and surgical facilities. Accordingly, we exclusively staff the top plastic surgeons (cosmetic surgeons) to perform plastic surgery (cosmetic surgery) in compliance with our rigorous staffing standards.
RIGOROUS PLASTIC SURGERY STAFFING STANDARDS
Möcelle Edan will not accept on staff any plastic surgeon, cosmetic physician or nurse who:
- have been professionally disciplined for misconduct or ethical violations
- who are licensed only in a foreign country
- who do not have medical liability insurance coverage
- who are not specifically trained in medical cosmetics (in other words being a licensed physician or nurse is not enough to qualify to work at Möcelle Edan – additional appropriate training in medical cosmetics is a must)
- plastic surgeons must be trained in cosmetic surgery (we do not staff plastic surgeons trained soley in reconstructive surgery)
- plastic surgeons must hold hospital privileges (this means we will not hire plastic surgeons who do not have authority to perform surgery at a hospital – this protects you if an emergency arises and you must be transferred to a hospital)
- who are not friendly, approachable and ethical
