If the above fits you and you do not have any abnormal skin lesions, anomalies or conditions (with the exception of psoriasis) you may consider sunless tanning to achieve a deep, dark tan - easily.

Most sunless tanners contain an active ingredient known as dihydroxyacetone, or simply DHA. DHA is a colorless sugar that reacts with the protein in the outer (horny, or "dead) layer of the skin to stain it a darker bronze color. As the outer layer natural exfoliates, you lose your tan.

Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate. Having excess dead skin can leave you blotchy and splotchy. Make sure you exfoliate well but not enough to cause irritation. Some people use exfoliating scrubs, creams, loofahs or exfoliating mitts. If you purchase the Mocelle® Edan St Tropez Tan & Body Scrub combo, our body scrub will take care of the exfoliation for you and save you the hassles. If however, you purchase the sunless tan by itself without the body treatment then exfoliation is your responsibility. Also, we suggest you shave the day before your sunless tan application. If you shave the day of the application, it may cause the tanner to darken the hair follicles/pores and also can cause irritation.

Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize! Mocelle® Edan offers several moisturizers that can help you extend the life of your sunless tan. Drier skin will pick up more tanner, making you look dirty.
